So this recipe is very fun because you can basically made it anywhere as long as you have a live or gas fire. You can use your BBQ Grill, one of those old style grills they have at parks, and even while sitting around a bonfire while holding a long stick with a kielbasa hanging off the other side!
I got together with some friends at a park and used one of those picnic grills. Although... I can't take much credit for actually making the kielbasa.... one of my friends got there wayyyyy before we did and started the fire, the kielbasa, the potatoes, and the whole shibang! By the time we got there all that was left for us to do was eat it, and o eat it we did and it was o so yummy. Thank you Kasii for feeding me on that day ! ;D
Kielbasa for as many people as you want. Get whatever kind of kielbasa you like. Try to get it from an actual Deli, not the kind that are in large supermarkets. They do not taste the same.
Spray oil if cooking on a grill
Ketchup or Mustad
1. Cut the kielbasa into about 6 inch long pieces on an angle. Take each piece and cut a little less than halfway through the kielbasa 3 times at about 1 inch intervals. This helps it grill faster.
2. If making on a grill, spray the grill with the oil. Place on grill and grill until it looks cooked through, about 7 to 15 minutes depending on how hot your grill is. Don't forget to flip halfway through!
3. If you are sitting around a bonfire, quick find a long stick/ thin branch! Pierce the kielbasa with it and sit in front of that bonfire with some beverage and cook the kielbasa in the fire! This is my favorite method as it brings back many childhood memories.
4. Enjoy with some ketchup or mustard!
Note: The grilled kielbasa goes great with grilled potatoes. Click here for the grilled potatoes recipe!
